Prof. Wang Chenghui, Director of the Foreign Language Experimental Teaching Center (FLTC), gave an academic lecture on “etiquette of speech and manners” in the Conference Room of the Administration Building on Oct. 14th, 7 p.m. Its purpose was to popularize etiquette knowledge among students.
Prof. Wang began her lecture with the importance of etiquette cultivation by bringing up our students’ self-cultivation in their social contact. According to her own teaching experience, she talked in details about the etiquette in greeting and responding, arguing and debating, rejecting and apologizing, making gestures and so on. She also pointed out “Every one of us belongs to the society, so we need to pay attention to our own etiquette cultivation and learn how to get along with others”. All students concentrated on her lecture and a good atmosphere was created.
This lecture was rich in content and close to life. It has not only made students understand the true meaning of etiquette cultivation, aroused their awareness of self-cultivation and triggered their interest in etiquette knowledge, but also laid a good foundation for their further study and life.
The lecture was sponsored by the Office of Science and Technology, held by the FLETC. It was presided by Prof. Tang Yong, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages(SFL). Students of SFL in Grade 2013, Grade 2014 and part of the faulty attended the lecture.
